Diagnosis
• Between 40-60% of patients will relapse in the head and neck area without distant metastases. • Imaging sometimes difficult due to the morphological modification of the local tissues induced by previous surgery and/or (chemo)radiation. • The differential diagnosis includes radionecrosis, infection,and scar from previous treatment(s). • Effort should be made to obtain pathological confirmation • PET/scan
