Time-outs • A Time-out in the context of radiation therapy is a pause immediately prior to the initiation of patient treatment, and at any time that a question or potential discrepancy is noted. • A Time-out generally consists of • Patient identification by two means • Identification of the correct treatment site • Verification of the treatment parameters (energy, etc) • Patient positioning • Monitor units
