CLINICAL CASE #1 – Locally advanced NSCLC
A 55-year-old, otherwise healthy man (ECOG PS = 0 )
Former smoker (quit 10 years ago)
Suspicious 5-cm mass in right upper lobe (RUL) at the chest X-ray
Chest CT scan : 5x4-cm spiculated lesion in RUL and suspicious 1.7-cm mediastinal lymph node (LN) at the 4R region PET-CT : 5-cm fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) avid mass in RUL (mSUV 16.4), right hilum, 4R node (SUV4)
Bronchoscopy and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS):
Biopsy of lung lesion and 4R LN; both show adenocarcinoma (CK7+, CK20-TTF1+)
