 Although the LQ model may be applicable also to the SBRT situation, there is no really solid quantification on dose effect relations on NT toxicity after high biological doses, especially in the mediastinum  Therefore, at this moment it is extremely difficult to give serious recommendations on NT restrictions in the hypofractionated situation  While toxicity for peripheral SBRT seems better predictable, for central tumors we may encounter unpleasant surprises with increasing uncritical use of the method  Prospective data on dose/volume/effect relations from well controlled clinical trials are urgently needed
