What we know right now…  IMRT is a new tool, and continues to evolve:  New skills, attention to details  Affects all aspects of treatment, not just planning  IMRT creates ‘ different ’ dose distributions which can be ‘ superior ’ :  But this relies on upstream information that allow clinical assertions to be informed and correct.  It also relies on the capacity to administer the therapy correctly.  Clinical evidence to date supports the “ superior dosimetry, superior outcomes ” hypothesis in most sites
