Limits of Feedback Control

 “ Adaptive ” attempts to correct the mean (accuracy), and address the variation (precision) with optimal patient- specific margins.  “ Gating ” and “Tracking” try to control the beam and target positioning in real-time, with minimal PTV margins.  What happens when knowledge is out of date?  What happens when we can’t measure fast enough?  Delayed evaluation  inference from sources outside the scope of the intervention?
