Hypoxia is a prognostic factor

w Hypoxic tumors are more malignant • Cervix tumors have larger extensions, more frequent parametrial spread, more lymph-vascular space involvement • recurrent tumors are more hypoxic than primary tumors • predicts for the likelihood of distant metastases in soft tissue sarcomas • hypoxia is a strong prognostic factor (Independent of primary mode of treatment)
