What are dose volume constraints (DVCs?) • Dose Volume constraints(DVCs) are used in 3DCRT to predict the likely manifestation of a side-effect of a particular magnitude when a specified dose is received by an OAR. • The use of dose volume constraints in a department must be related to the manner in which OARs are delineated  Consistency in delineation and in dose volume constraints applied in 3DCRT is paramount in ascertaining the manifestation of radiation-induced toxicities.
