Case description: A patient with stage IIB squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix, based on tumor extension to both parametria close to the pelvic wall. Tumor dimensions 8 cm (width) x 5 cm (height) x 5 cm (thickness). No vaginal involvement.
Good response on chemoradiation at brachytherapy. Tumor dimensions 3.5 cm (width) x 3 cm (height) x 2.5 cm (thickness). No vaginal involvement. Intrauterine tandem, 15-degree curvature placed at 7 cm. Two ovoids, 20 mm diameter used. Needle positions in ovoids and depth of insertion: R L 2 cm x x 2 cm x x 2.5 cm 2.5 cm 2.5 cm 2.5 cm
