u : is a units conversion factor to convert the dose rate expressed in cGy h -1 and considering the time unit of the value T to the desired dose unit, Gy or cGy.

This is e.g. the case for HDR or PDR treatments with 192 Ir or HDR treatments with 60 Co  T = dwell time !
