Introduction on Dose Optimization

▪ To answer this Question, we have to define our wished “Result”, the wished dose distribution, our “Goal”. ▪ Then the Dwell Times of the Source, T i , have to be adjusted so that the wished dose distribution is resulted.

This “Adjustment” of Dwell Times to achieve our “Goal” is called “Optimization”.
