using MJF. The surfaces of these immobilizers were captured using optical structured light imaging allowing a spatial comparison with the intended design. Results Dosimetric measurements indicate that the PA12 light material provides a 15% dose reduction compared to other MJF printable options. The metamaterial designs provide dose reductions relative to status quo stretched thermoplastics of up to 40%. Printed immobilizers showed spatial fidelity with 97% of sampled points on the surface within +/- 2mm of the design.
Conclusion Immobilizers printed with Multi Jet Fusion are a promising new technology allowing automation, control over the fabrication process, as well as significant lowering of skin dose through selection of preferred materials and metamaterial design.
