Conclusion:

Our findings demonstrate superiority of TBI-based conditioning regimen over CT in terms of survival without any increase of toxicity. Thus, TBI is the treatment of choice for adult patients > 18 years of age with ALL undergoing allo-HSCT. These results with a highly selected population of ALL are consistent with the results of the contemporary European pediatric FORUM randomized trial that included patients < 18 years. Further research is encouraged.
