Conclusion:

The reporting of breast dose metrics in lymphoma RT requires standardisation, due to the large variety and inconsistency of metrics reported. Our analysis demonstrated reporting at multiple breast dose metrics provides valuable information of the effect of RT technique on dose, yet significant differences were not seen for some comparisons, likely due to infrequent reporting at multiple dose levels. We found the presence of axillary irradiation significantly affects MBD, so recommend it to be stated when describing the patient cohort, and breast dose metrics should not be reported for mixed patient groups with respect to axillary irradiation. Other qualitative variables, such as arm positioning and position on table, have also been suggested to affect breast dose and should be reported more widely to enable comparison between studies. Greater standardisation of reported breast dose metrics will improve individualised modelling of RIBC risk.
