7th Stage of Stage I and II disease (p=0.2), Stage II and III disease (p=0.762), Stage I and III (p=0.186), Stage IVA and Stage IVB disease (p=0.544). Similarly, there was little difference in OS for patients with a 8th Stage of Stage I and II subsets (p=0.187), Stage II and Stage III disease (p=0.626), Stage I and Stage III disease (p=0.162). In patients with pre-treatment plasma EBV DNA > 0 and EBV DNA > 1000 copies/ml, the comparison of overall and inter-group survival differences among patients classified by different CNG stages were all statistically significant. While patients classified by the 7th Stage and the 8th Stage exhibit similar inter-group survival. Among CNG Stage I, II, and III patients, the proportion of patients with EBV DNA = 0 is gradually decreasing (30.92% vs 10.78% vs 3.39%), while the proportion of patients with EBV DNA > 1000 is gradually increasing (33.29% vs 60.0% vs 84.75%, p<0.001). But this trend could not be observed in the distribution of 7th Stage and 8th Stage.

Conclusion:

The CNG stagging system presents a more accurate segregation of survival rates than the 7th and 8th edition and is well aligned with biological behavior markers. Further studies of the staging system are warranted.
