In surgical patients TLG and shamMARD showed a significant association with PFS (p < 0.001 uni- and multivariate), but in contrast to primary irradiated patients, the stratification of TLG could not be improved by shamMARD.
Conclusion:
Integration of metabolic information for calculation of personalized radiation doses is feasible and seems to be a promising approach in HNSCC. Ongoing research will investigate further imaging parameters in a larger cohort of patients and the potential of a combined genome and metabolic adapted radiation dose for the future use in precision radiation oncology.
Keywords: personalized radiotherapy, metabolic adapted dose
