Conclusion:

Incidental irradiation of the left atrium with≥63 Gy may be associated with the development of cardiac toxicity. Beside dosimetric measures, the size and position/axis deviations of the heart (due to pulmonary resection or deformation) also should be taken into account for identifying the high-risk patients who can potentially benefit from close cardiac monitoring during post-RT visits.
