Conclusion:

We have demonstrated that we are able to extract and summarise healthcare data from a large cohort of real-world patients treated at the Christie using standardised structured forms that are recorded on the EPR. The analysis demonstrates that our real-world cohort are comorbid with a range of performance statuses. Many of these patients would have been excluded from clinical trials. This project generates several discussion points. There was missing data in each field (mean of 11% and a range of 4-21%) and patients with missing data were excluded from the survival analysis. Internally it allows focus on clinical engagement to promote the importance of structured forms being completed to reduce the amount of missing data and improve the completeness of future analysis.
