Conclusion:
Patients with a soft tissue metastasis who did responded to the palliative radiotherapy had a significant better median overall survival in comparison with the patients who did not respond: 6.7 vs 3.8 months, respectively (p=0.003). Twenty two percent died within 2 months so no response was recorded in these patients. 53% of the patients did respond well to the treatment. Five different prognostic factors determine survival. More research should be done to identify the non-responders.
