Conclusion:

To the best of our knowledge, this is the first comparative planning study evaluating plan quality and dosimetric properties of delivered single-fraction brachytherapy vs. virtually planned single-fraction MRgSBRT in liver tumours. Our comparison indicates real-time MR-Linac units can safely deliver single-fraction SBRT to a single as well as multiple liver lesions with adequate target volume coverage and no clinically relevant OAR violations. MR-guided SF SBRT is feasible and further evaluation of this technology within the ramifications of clinical trials is warranted.
