Conclusion:

Multidisciplinary treatment CT + S showed equivalent survival outcomes with CT + RT in patients with LS-SCEC. The personalized decision of local therapy should be made after comprehensive considerations on tumor location, length, comorbidities, and patient's willingness for organ preservation. More effective systematic therapy is urgently needed to lower the risk of distant metastasis and improve survival.
