Brachytherapy - Gynaecology

ESTRO 2024

Rectal complications remain the main toxicity of modern brachytherapy, mainly proctitis and rectal bleeding. Efforts should be made to maintain rectal D2cc below 65 Gy. T-score, has showed clinical utility as prognostic factor especially in MDFS. T-score could predict parameters for IGABT such as volume and interstitial needle application. In our series we don´t found correlation between T-score>4 and 2-y G2-3 morbidity-free survival (rectal, urinary or sexual toxicity). Further studies are needed to evaluate the influence of different clinical factors on morbidity secondary to radiotherapy in patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma.

Keywords: cervical cancer, morbidity, T-score
