Conclusion:

The survey confirmed the already existing leadership role of medical physicists in radiation oncology and highlighted the need for leadership training. Medical physicists are leaders in their own discipline but also of multidisciplinary teams, although they commonly do not have formalized leadership education. The results of the survey will be used as input to develop leadership activities and training for medical physicists both within the frame of ESTRO and in collaboration with other disciplines in radiation oncology. Pilot activities are planned to start in 2024.

Purpose/Objective:

Hypofractionation offers equivalent treatment outcomes as conventional schedules and can optimize the utility of radiotherapy resources (1). This is critical in low and middle-Income countries (LMICs), such as Latin American and the Caribbean countries (LAC), with limited radiation therapy resources, however, its adoption remains limited. Education can be perceived as a barrier for using hypofractionated radiation schedules in such countries
