Conclusion:
EBRT as a non-invasive cancer treatment, can be the most suitable option for an expected aged Portuguese population, increasing even further the EBRT demand in the future. Certainly, the deficit of MV units in Portugal will require a change in the cancer related – policies and an investment to offer full access to EBRT treatments. This investment must include a value-based healthcare analysis regarding novel technologies available. Also, measures must be taken to assure that staff requirements are meet in line with the expected complexity of the future RT treatments.
