Purpose/Objective:
Radiation therapy (RT) is an essential component of cancer treatment, yet disparities in access to RT services persist globally. Two-thirds of all RT megavoltage machines (MVMs) worldwide are located in high-income countries (HIC), with much higher deficits in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). More than half (53%) of all new cancer cases occur in the Asia-Pacific region. However, the Asia-Pacific accounts for an even higher proportion of global cancer deaths (59%).
