Results:

The DIP analysis showed a significant, but clinically irrelevant NTCP difference for dysphagia grade II and grade III, of -0.3pp and 0.1pp respectively. The DIE analysis showed a significant NTCP difference for xerostomia grade II and grade III, of -1.0pp and -0.4pp respectively, the former exceeding the ≥1pp threshold, see Figure 2A. A significant difference in mean dose with the DIP analysis was found in 10 out of 14 OARs. However, in none of the OAR structures the mean dose difference was more than 2.0 Gy. For the DIE analysis, the mean dose differences were generally higher than with the DIP, however, in the 11 OARs with a significant difference in mean dose, again none of the mean dose differences was larger than 2.0 Gy, see Figure 2B. The OARs portray a predominantly negative dose difference value (i.e. overestimation of dose deposition on DLCs compared to CCs). Geometric comparison showed mean DSC for the OARs ranging from 0.50-0.95.
