Conclusion:

This study expanded the DL method for tumour probabilities prediction to both GTVp and GTVln segmentation in planning PET/CT of OPC patients, demonstrating robust generalization in external cohorts. The incorporation of the predicted tumour probability maps makes it possible to select the optimal probability threshold per patient , resulting in a better model generalizability in external sets, facilitating DL-based method adoption into clinical practice.
