mm, for the 0.5-mm and 3-mm prototypes, respectively. In the current setup, the spatial resolution was dominated by that of the imaging system and can be significantly improved with a zoom lens.
Conclusion:
The first tests suggest that plastic scintillator sheets may have satisfactory performance for FLASH quality assurance. The ongoing developments are dedicated to the estimation and correction of the spurious Cerenkov luminescence, the investigation of the deviations in the PDD image from the reference, and the optimization of the imaging system for improving its spatial resolution.
