Conclusion:

In general, the automated VMAT-procedure improved target coverage and conformity, and reduced the dose to the heart and ipsilateral lung compared to 3D-CRT. In a dataset of 100 left locoregional breast cases with IMN included, the automated VMAT resulted in dose metrics below clinical goals for both the heart and ipsilateral lung, without any manual optimization input.
