In addition, four respiratory parameters were determined from the 1D-RNAV signal: 1) the peak-to-peak amplitude was calculated by the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the individual respiratory cycles, 2) respiratory cycle duration was quantified by the time duration between consecutive local minima (end-exhale) in the 1D-RNAV signal, 3) in-window duration was determined by the time duration of the 1D-RNAV signal being in the window, 4) end-exhale position deviation was quantified by the difference between the local minima (end-exhale) of the 1D-RNAV signal with respect to the minimum observed within the first 30s of the signal. We then calculated the Pearson correlation between the mean imaging efficiency and these four parameters (Figure 2). The correlation analyses were also performed using the retrospectively defined position of the motion-compensating window.
