All 25 patients were scanned in less than 15 mins, identical to a regular diagnostic PET/CT slot. All PET and DDG PET data matched well with average CT and DDG CT, respectively. An example of fused DDG PET/CT at EI and EE is demonstrated (see figure). Artifacts were noticed more in average CT than in DDG CT. DDG PET, gated over 20 to 40 respiratory cycles, was not impacted by irregular respiration. DDG PET/CT at both EE and EI phases were free of mis registration and motion artifacts and could potentially improve the confidence of RTP in particular for gated treatment at EE.

Conclusion:

A new DDG PET/CT in less than 15 mins scan time of a regular PET/CT imaging session, can provide both gated PET and gated CT at both EI and EE phases, as well as MIP and average CT images for respiratory gated RTP of NSCLC.
