ESTRO 2024
In patients with vDIBH, ABC & SGRT, there were no statistically significant differences in the average MHD comparing the scenarios with and without CBCT-guided translations applied.
Conclusion:
To our knowledge, this is the first prospective study investigating the interfractional variation of heart position and MHD across vDIBH, ABC and SGRT. In patients who were treated with vDIBH, the use of CBCT image guidance was associated with a significant reduction of interfractional variation of MHD. No difference was seen in patients treated with ABC or SGRT. This could mean that CBCT may be potentially most useful in patients treated with vDIBH to reduce the interfractional MHD variation. Future studies should focus on defining the optimal frequency of CBCT image guidance in each type of breath hold technique to reduce interfractonal heart dose variation.
