Physics - Inter-fraction motion management and offline adaptive radiotherapy

ESTRO 2024

Performance of the RMOD (approach #5) was compared to dose mapping via:

1.

Simple (global) rigid registration

2. Global deformation (using image intensity only) 3. Individual OAR deformations (Individual structure-only deformations, per OAR) 4. Global hybrid deformation (using all OAR structures & image intensity)

Validation of the RMOD approach was made for 10 head and neck patients with an original CT/dose (primary) and a secondary re-irradiation CT (secondary). The performance of RMOD was evaluated by calculating the difference in near-max dose, D0.1cc, to original OAR structures compared to the corresponding structures on the secondary CT, following dose mapping. This measure would negative if mapped D0.1cc was lower than the original D0.1cc.
