Physics - Intra-fraction motion management and real-time adaptive radiotherapy

Conclusion:

CBCT guided online adaptive head and neck radiotherapy treatments are feasible on Ethos in a reasonable treatment slot with the expectation that average treatment time will reduce as experience grows. In this example data set, the adaptive plans show improved target coverage and / or reduced organ at risk doses. The results are much closer to the intended (reference) treatment than would be delivered by standard image guided radiotherapy.
