adaptations. Crucially, not a single patient required manual adaptation when the contour deformation strategy was applied, compared to 17.6% for non-adapted plans. This reduction in workload paves the way for the usage of smaller margins. When we look at the 2mm margin plans, we observe that only 11.8% of the patients require manual plan adaptation when the contour deformation strategy is implemented, compared to 41.2% for non-adapted plans. We observed that the contour deformation strategy consistently outperformed the dose restoration strategy. However, dose restoration still significantly improves the iTV D98 for smaller margins.
