Physics - Intra-fraction motion management and real-time adaptive radiotherapy

Intra-fraction target motion for 45 treatment fractions was analysed in this study. Absolute motion during treatment delivery ranged between 0.0-6.6 mm for the 5 fraction patients and 0.0-7.3 mm for the 2 fraction patients (Figure 1. A. and Figure 2. A.). For the majority of fractions (82%) target motion was below the PTV margin of 3 mm, while 50% of the patients showed motion above 3 mm at some timepoint during treatment delivery. Time for treatment delivery without any motion management ranged between 460-570s for 36.25Gy/5 fractions and 401-519s for 24Gy/4 subfractions.
