Conclusion:

The study showed large patient dependent deviations between EQD2-corrected and un-corrected physical dose summation. Deviations between EQD2 dose summation and physical dose summations were on average between 4-9 Gy for max doses across patients and OAR, and in the order of 4-5 Gy for mean doses. With high dose reirradiation, as is feasible with proton therapy, this could very likely translate into unnecessary target coverage
