Conclusion:

Comparing PAT and IMPT for a cohort of pediatric ependymoma patients, shows the potential of PAT in reducing the dose to OARs, while maintaining or improving target coverage. The most prominent difference was the mean doses to both cochleae which was significant reduced with PAT, while no clear difference in integral dose were found. It is also clear that tumor location and size is an important factor when comparing PAT and IMPT and should be considered when choosing modality.
