Conclusion:

Implementing a much-needed quality assurance procedure for deformable dose mapping in re-irradiation is feasible using commercially available software. Decisions for re-irradiation may be aided by considering a three-dimensional view of mapped doses. Further investigation, including more patients and clinicians, is needed to strengthen this conclusion. Due to the time required for both the mapping and the quality assurance, appropriate patient cases should be chosen carefully before deciding to perform (multiple) deformable dose mapping(s).
