Conclusion:

We have shown that differences in interpretations of IMN delineation guidelines lead to statistically significant differences in heart doses. For more than 10 % of the patients, the magnitude of the difference in mean heart dose was larger than 0.5 Gy. For the individual patient this magnitude could be large enough to impact treatment decisions, such as referral to proton therapy.
