Conclusion:

Neutrophils accumulate in the TME of most tumors after RT and exert either pro- or anti-tumor effects dependent on the tumor type. Some pro- or anti-tumor neutrophil functions can be enhanced by RT. The role of neutrophils should not be overlooked when developing RT treatment strategies and should be further researched in specific tumor types.
