ESTRO 2024 - Abstract Book

S5287 ESTRO 2024 Pectin and psyllium plus pectin were shown to protect the lower gut against ionising radiation toxicity by preventing shrinkage in caecal surface area and increasing the number of regenerating intestinal crypts post irradiation. This could be a useful treatment for acute intestinal radiation toxicity in humans. Radiobiology - Normal tissue radiobiology

Keywords: Dietary fibre, pectin, normal tissue toxicity
