Administration of glutamine during RT±QT treatment in HNC patients could reduce the duration and severity of mucositis. These results may reduce the use of opioids, improve treatment adherence and the quality of life of our patients, although future studies are needed.

Purpose/Objective:
In the UK, trial activity is typically carried out by specialised research nurses. Here we present the results from the first therapeutic radiographer led prospective study at our centre, conducted by the radiotherapy clinical trials team. Our exemplar is the Remote Cardiac mOnitoring following lung RaDiotherapy (ReCoRd) study (IRAS: 289962), which facilitated the development of standardised procedures for radiographer led clinical trial delivery. Despite advances with modern radiotherapy, radiation-induced heart disease remains a common cause of morbidity and mortality in lung cancer patients treated with this modality. The clinical rationale for the ReCoRd study was to assess feasibility of cardiac monitoring using smartwatches in patients treated with curative-intent
