RTT - Education, training, advanced practice and role developments
ESTRO 2024
A total of 48# for 10 pancreatic SABR patients have been treated. To date, one RTT (‘trainer’) has completed all 3 stages of the training programme, enabling online re-delineation for MRI-guided pancreatic SABR without the RO present for 6# on the last two patients. Three out of the team of four RTTs have successfully completed Phase 2 (offline portion) of the competency. A geometric test-retest evaluation of delineation is underway to assess the impact of training on interobserver variation and similarity to ‘gold standard’ contours, as well as the impact of RTT-led delineation on treatment time.
Conclusion:
RTT-led abdominal OAR delineation for pancreatic SABR on the MR Linac is feasible after completion of an institutional training programme. This framework can be used as routine training for new RTTs, as well other members of the MR Linac treatment team (i.e., physicists, trainee RO). The skills gained in abdominal OAR delineation for pancreas can be used for other abdominal SABR sites in the future, i.e., liver.
