RTT - Education, training, advanced practice and role developments

ESTRO 2024

Results:

A total of 10 (100%) responses were received from the current STSE contouring program participants. Four RTTs had no previous experience with STSE NT outlining and six have current or previous experience with NT for STSE.

In the graph detailing preferred training methods, it shows how the participants with no contouring experience would prefer to receive training. The majority either preferring group training lectures (27%) and test cases (27%), followed by workbook and anatomy atlas (20%), with one-to-one training (13%) and multimedia presentations (13%) being the least preferred method of training. In the graph detailing preferred skill development, it shows how participants with sarcoma contouring experience would prefer to develop their skills further. 29% would like to explore how contours relate to toxicities, 23% would like to get involved with competency framework development, 18% prefer both integrate contours with automatic tools and to teach others and 12% would like to peer review others contours. No participants opted to prefer not to progress further. In addition, majority of respondents opted for every couple of weeks, followed by when needed and only 1 participant opted for once a month. It is expected that the need for check ins would decrease once the RTT is more confident in their STSE NT outlining.
