Conclusion:

The use of a think aloud method can be incorporated into radiotherapy teaching to encourage active participation as students verbalise their thoughts whilst they develop an individual treatment plan. Errors in the reasoning process can be corrected by the facilitator or by other students and provides an opportunity to deliver theory driven but clinically applied teaching to radiotherapy students.
