The mean bladder volume for the hydration call group was 278.2cm3 (SD 135.1) and for the no call group 157.9 cm3 (SD 45.1). This was found to be statistically significant (p<0.01). The majority of patients in the call group had a volume greater than 250mls. Figure 1.shows the distribution of bladder volumes for the hydration call and no call groups.
