Conclusion:
FullVMAT could result in better outcomes for MHD but may lead to higher V5%/V20% of the lungs and MLD. When making the choice between fullVMAT and parVMAT the target’s location relative to the heart should be considered; fullVMAT appears preferable when the target spans only one side of the heart and is not wrapped around it. However, for patients with target entirely above the heart, parVMAT seems advantageous. All patients had an adequate treatment after reviewing the summed dose on weekly rCTs.
