Conclusion:

This single-center study emphasizes the importance of regular, close-follow-up examinations for the timely detection of new metastases, allowing for immediate therapeutic action. Our frequency analysis of repeated courses of radiosurgery reveals the recurrent nature of patient visits, illuminating the substantial clinical workload involved. These findings prompt a re-evaluation of current compensation structures for such therapies in Germany, considering the shift towards more frequent, precise treatments as opposed to a single extensive whole-brain radiotherapy session in the past. Additionally, our findings serve as a foundation for further multicentric studies, essential for corroborating these insights and informing more nuanced patient care strategies.

Purpose/Objective:

Pretreatment laboratory parameters including De Ritis ratio and glucose level have been associated with prognosis in some types of solid tumors. Thus, we aimed to perform a comprehensive investigation on the prognostic value of pretreatment laboratory parameters in elderly glioblastoma patients treated with temozolomide-based chemoradiation.
