Conclusion:

We report first data on the use of a specific imaging protocol for FAPI PET imaging of RC and AC prior to radiotherapy. We found that early image acquisition PET staging with FAPI is feasible and allows for primary tumor detection in rectal and anal cancer. Tumor uptake was high, especially in AC. Our findings call for further investigation on the role of FAPI PET for PET-guided target volume definition in RC and AC.
